PRESENTATION This conference is the capstone event for the thematic year "Geometry". Co-organized by the three “Geometry” workgroups of GdR IFM and IG-RV (i.e., computational geometry (GT GeoAlg), geometric modeling (GT MG), as well as digital geometry and mathematical morphology (GT GDMM)), this conference stemmed from a desire to regroup the disparate research communities using geometry as their central subject matter. Consequently, for the first time ever, the three working groups within GdR IM and GdR IG-RV have committed to coordinating and co-locating their annual meetings to guarantee the event's success. The conference aims to gather a broad spectrum of international researchers interested in the various computational aspects of geometry. The objectives of this focused event mixing leading experts in geometry and young researchers are to facilitate interactions between the different geometry-centric computing communities, to highlight new trends, and to foster new theoretical or applied developments. The language of the conference will be English. Topics: computational geometry, geometric modeling, discrete geometry, geometry processing, topological data analysis, mathematical morphology, mathematical foundations of geometric computing, geometry and AI, applications of geometry. PROGRAM OrganizationThe conference proposes 5 keynote talks and 18 regular talks given by renowned field experts. Participants have also the opportunity to present a poster during the week. The program offers time to interact and discuss among participants. As traditional at CIRM, Wednesday afternoon is left free and is generally devoted to a beautiful walk toward the famous nearby Calanques (Sugiton and Morgiou are the closest). Invited speakers
There will also be 15 posters, presented in the late afternoons of Monday and Tuesday -- see the Posters page. Annual meeting of Geometry workgroupsThe conference will also host the annual meetings of three "Geometry" workgroups of GdR IFM and IG-RV:
They will take place on Thursday afternoon. A specific call for presentations will be sent within each workgroup to allow young researchers to present their work. REGISTRATION Registration is free but mandatory and subject to approval by the committee. In addition to plenary talks, there will be poster sessions (Monday and Tuesday), for which there will be a call shortly. Furthermore, each GT will have its annual meeting (organized separately) on Thursday afternoon. To facilitate the organization, participants must:
A limited number of funds to cover the CIRM fees is available upon request. Funding attributions are subject to the decision of the organizing committee according to different criteria (priority to students, poster presenters, scientific fit, members of GT, etc). Note that the CIRM can host approximately 90 participants on site. Priority will be given to those who stay the whole week and register early. (Update July 8, 2024) For now, we are no more accepting new registrations since we have reached the maximum number of participants at CIRM. We are currently checking the possibilities to host more persons (local inhabitants staying at home instead of CIRM, late withdrawals, more rooms at CIRM) and to have more people at lunch/dinner (but sleeping outside CIRM). We will come back to you soon. VENUE The conference will take place at CIRM, Centre International de Rencontres Mathématique, in Luminy, close to Marseille, France. Access information is available from the CIRM website. Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (CIRM)The CIRM is on the beautiful Luminy campus of Aix-Marseille University, surrounded by the National Park of "Calanques". The famous "Calanques de Marseille", beautiful typical creeks, are within walking distance from the CIRM. There will be no talks on Wednesday afternoon to give the participants an opportunity to enjoy the surroundings. Further details about the workshop (such as a precise planning) will soon be available. You can already find information concerning the venue to Luminy on the website of the CIRM Travel and Accomodation informationsMore information on CIRM can be found on the CIRM Website.
