Information about venue (CIRM)

This page gathers information for all participants coming to the conference. As a registered participant, you should have receive an email with this content:

ARRIVAL

  • Please pick up and wear your Name Badge on the table at Main Entrance: it is requested anywhere on CIRM site
  • Site access maps and your Event program are also displayed in the Main Entrance hall.


RECEPTION DESK HOURS

  • Sunday: 5pm > 11pm
  • Mon-Fri: 8am > 6pm

RESTAURANT CATERING HOURS

  • Sunday cold buffet: 7pm > 9:30pm
  • Breakfast: 7am > 9am (self-service buffet)
  • Lunch: service at 12:30pm (duration 1h approx.)
  • Dinner: service at 7:30pm
  • Please INFORM US IN ADVANCE of any allergy or special diet food

ACCOMMODATION ARRIVAL

  • For your arrival on Sunday, OCTOBER 20th, 2024 (if this is not the case, no worry we already have taken it into account)
    • The Reception opens on Sundays from 5pm to welcome and check you in. In case of arrival earlier, you can wait on site in the interior and exterior areas with free access,
    • A cold buffet at the CIRM Catering is served from 7pm to 9:45pm, it is included with your fullboard accommodation.

ACCOMMODATION LATE ARRIVAL

  • Please note that at anytime -on Sundays and during the week- you always will be able to collect your roomkey at the CIRM Reception outside opening hours:
  • An envelope with your name, containing your key, will be hung on the board in the main entrance Hall, in front of the Reception (we never forgot someone otherwise call the Emergency phone# hung at Entrance in case of)

ACCOMMODATION DEPARTURE

  • On the day of your departure, your room must be vacated around 9am and your roomkey must be returned to the Reception desk without delay please in order to respect our maintenance/staff schedule.
  • For Saturday departures, your overnight stay includes dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday morning,
  • The CIRM is closed on weekends from Saturday around 12pm to Sunday 5pm
  • It is therefore NOT possible to stay at CIRM from Saturday to Sunday, with the exception of participants present for 2 consecutive weeks.
  • In case you booked onsite a Saturday night, your stay has been systematically modified by us and booked until Saturday morning.


PAYMENTS

  • If you have costs to pay such as meals and extra meals, Friday extra night, expenses or stay of your kid or companion who are not participating at events:
    • Present you directly please between 8am & 4pm to our Accounting Department right next to the Reception desk, during the week.
  • CIRM accommodation is only fullboard accommodation. This includes a formula with dinner of the booked night, breakfast & lunch of the day after.

GETTING TO CIRM

  • Public transports network in Marseille > https://www.rtm.fr/
    • During the week, the bus terminal stops front of the CIRM entrance
    • During weekends (Sat-Sun), the terminus stops at the main entrance gate of the Luminy Campus, then you have to walk around 200m (no stairs)
  • A bicycle shelter area is now available at the end of the CIRM staff parking (upper carpark), please note that locks & chains are not provided by CIRM.
  • CIRM Taxis with economical fixed price (1 to 4 people/taxi, payment onsite)
    • 1 trip around 45mn-1h from/to Marseille/MRS Airport: 90€
    • 1 trip around 30mn-45mn from/to Marseille Train station St-Charles: 40€
    • Please contact directly (24h in advance if possible) one of our taxis who will drop you off or pick you up at the CIRM doors

SUPPLIES FOR YOUR STAY

  • Your room is provided with sheets, towels & a welcome toiletries kit (shower/shampoo gel). But in case you stay all week, we recommend you to bring your own products additionally.
  • Hair dryer and iron are available on request at the Reception desk (loan)
  • A Laundry room with washer & dryer is at your disposal in each building, floor#1 (with detergent but still bring yours if necessary for long stay)

GOURDE / WATER BOTTLES / DRINKS / SNACKS

  • The Cirm is committed to an eco-responsible approach: stopping the use of plastic bottles.
    • Water fountains remain at your disposal. We advise you to bring your own water bottle as we no longer sell plastic water bottles (Zero-plastic operation), please make your arrangements.
    • Water bottles (50cl & 75cl) and mugs are on sale at the Reception & Restaurant as well as other CIRM souvenir products.
  • Cold drinks & snacks dispenser: payment in cash (coins please!)
  • Nespresso coffee machine: digital payment (credit card)

WI-FI

  • As a participant, you should have received an email specifying you a login and password.
  • Please, connect to the SSID 'CIRM_VISITORS'.
  • IMPORTANT: Use only this NEW CIRM WIFI credentials. If you have already been to the CIRM before, please note that your old access codes is expired.
  • For any requests concerning your access code, please contact the Cirm IT support team under « support[at]cirm-math.fr ».

OTHER INFORMATION

  • The Luminy Campus is in the heart of the Calanques > https://www.calanques-parcnational.fr/en
  • ATTENTION THERE IS NO ATM, supermarket, pharmacy or other store near the CIRM.
  • The nearest one is at approximately 4kms by public transport. We therefore recommend you to previously plan your needs.
